Betty was a sweet lady. I met Betty in Carmel in the mid 90s, at a get together at my brother's place. I was thrilled to learn that not only were we both Texans but also from the same hometown ; Uvalde! I saw her around town after that and she was always so friendly and nice. She was there for me when my brother passed away in 1996 in Carmel. She was heartbroken as his passing was very unexpected but for me it was comforting to talk to someone who knew him and shared my grief. We stayed in touch for a few years and then lost touch. However I thought of her often . She had such a warm personality and she was good to me and my family.
Today in Uvalde, I found out from her cousin, that Betty had passed. It made me sad but I am comforted knowing that she is reunited with her loved ones, including my brother! Rest in sweet peace sweet Betty. My condolences to her family.
