Ricardo was a student in several of my classes at Cal State Fresno. He became a friend and confident, deserving the highest respect for his interests and social goals. Very sorry to learn of his passing.

Ricardo has been the driver that has been delivering Meals on Wheels to my Dad. I saw Ricardo many times at my Dad's house including the day before he passed. I am so saddened to hear of him passing away. He was very kind and caring and always had a smile on his face and a kind word to share. We will miss him very much.

I knew Ricardo for most of our adult lives, in Berkeley, San Jose, Visalia, and Fresno. Our lives were parallel in many respects and also diverged in other ways, but we always managed to cross paths. He was cofounder of ICSI, a Latino community counseling service in Fresno. He was Director of Primer Paso, a drug treatment center for men and women in Visalia. We were friends and also butt heads, but overall he was a kind person, father, and friend. Ricardo Vasquez, presente!

On behalf of the Ruben & Rosemary Diaz Family of Visalia, our deepest condolences to Richard's family. We grew up with Richard on Encina St in Visalia, but our career paths took us miles apart. We continued to communicate with one another at the Diaz Family events that Richard attended in Visalia, Madera, and Lindsay. Once in a while we would send each other emails as well as call each other by phone. We played football and baseball in front of our houses on Encina Street, as well as at the local school. Richard did enjoy baseball more than the other sports. We are four brothers and Richard was our fifth brother growing up. He spent more time at our house than his own, especially during the summer months. We are sorry to hear of his departure, and may he rest in peace.

Familia of Ricardo,
I enjoyed our conversations at the San Juan Bautista City Library. Ricardo reminded me that he had been friends with my deceased father and how their friendship impacted his life. I am thankful for having known him. Rest in peace Ricardo.
